Questioning Dorian
July 9, 2003
Jen: Nora. Hey.
Nora: Hi, Jen. Hi, Joey.
Joey: Hi.
Jen: I need your help.
Nora: OK. What's going on?
Jen: Could you recommend a
good divorce lawyer?
Nora: Didn't you just marry
Rex?
Jen: Yeah, I shouldn't have
done it. Somebody helped me realize that.
Joey: Can you help her, Nora?
Nora: Um -- OK, well, one
question -- how does Rex feel about this?
Jen: He wants out as much as
I do.
*~*
Dorian: No alibi? My car
broke down.
Bo: Yeah, even though nothing
was wrong with it.
Dorian: I had to trudge
through town in the rain.
Bo: And you walked all the
way to the Palace restaurant?
Dorian: Yes, where Blair and
Walker can attest that I arrived wet and exhausted.
Bo: And what time was that,
Dorian?
Dorian: I really couldn't
remember. Uh, Blair, or Walker?
Blair: I never checked my
watch, actually.
Dorian: Uh-huh. Walker, can
you help me out here?
Officer: Commissioner?
Bo: Yeah?
Officer: Better have a look
at this.
Bo: Set it here.
Dorian: Wait, how did he get
in here?
Bo: I let him in when I was
out here on the phone, Dorian.
Dorian: What?
Bo: He wanted to give me
this. It's a search warrant. You know what? This is the same brand that was used
to poison Mitch. Whose water is this?
*~*
Nora: Um, here. This is a
friend of mine, one of the best divorce attorneys around.
Jen: Thank you. I really
appreciate this.
Nora: Good luck.
Jen: I am going to call this
guy first thing in the morning. Maybe I can even get a quickie divorce in the
islands. You could even come with me. How great would that be? Just the two of
us alone, away from all this.
Joey: I love you.
Nora: Ahem.
Troy: You came back. Nora.
Nora: Expecting somebody
else? Maybe, uh, Gabrielle?
Troy: Gabrielle.
Nora: She did set up this
dinner for her and Bo.
Troy: Yeah, she did, only Bo
couldn't make it.
Nora: So you filled in?
Troy: You know, Nora, I
didn't know you were that interested in who I had dinner with.
Nora: I'm not, Troy. I'm
actually here working on the Mitch Laurence murder case. I have a few questions
I'd like to ask you.
Troy: I wish I could help
you, but I barely knew the guy.
Nora: Lindsay Rappaport just
admitted to being down on the docks the night that he was murdered, with you,
making love.
Troy: Well, we both know
Lindsay's delusional, right?
Nora: Well, doesn't the
medication cover that?
Troy: Obviously, she was off
her medication that night.
Nora: Would that explain why
she said you also went to St. Ann's and did it again?
Troy: And you believe her?
Nora: I'm just trying to set
a time frame here.
Troy: Well, I'm sorry, Nora,
I can't help you because I wasn't there. What?
Nora: I never could tell when
you were lying.
Troy: Nora, you know that
Lindsay is the last person I would be with. You know that.
Nora: I don't care. I'm just
looking for someone to back up her story. That's all. Oh, and you should know,
if what she says is true, you'd be in a lot, a lot of trouble. She's a
psychiatric patient. You treated her. You play around with her, you lose your
license.
Troy: Nora, please --
*~*
Bo: This water is from
Oregon, Dorian. Can't get this stuff in these parts. And I know that because I
checked a lot of local stores, and none of them carry this.
Dorian: And you mean to say
you didn't call the company to find out I have it delivered direct?
Bo: This is yours?
Dorian: Oh, you know very
well that it is, Bo, and that does not mean that I killed Mitch. Please, would I
be so stupid as to poison him with something that could be so easily traced back
to me?
Officer: Found these in the
trash, commissioner.
Bo: Do either of you ladies
know how these syringes ended up in the trash?
Dorian: Syr-- oh, my
goodness. One of our maids must have thrown it away.
Bo: Hmm, and one of the
syringes is missing.
Dorian: Well, I wouldn't know
that because I didn't know those syringes were even there. I mean, I have no
idea how they could have gotten anywhere near this house or in our garbage.
Bo: Blair?
Blair: I have no idea.
Dorian: Mm-hmm. Anyway, Bo,
didn't you just say that Mitch was poisoned with something in a plastic bottle?
Bo: You're a doctor, Dorian.
Dorian: But you know I don't
practice now.
Bo: Yeah, but you sure as
heck could give somebody a shot.
Dorian: OK, Cowboy, why are
you building a case against me? Why me? Would you like to tell me that? Anybody
in this town -- and I do mean anybody -- could have killed --
Blair: Not anybody. Walker
and I were cleared, Dorian.
Bo: Take these down and have
them checked, matched up against the one they used on Laurence, and have them
dusted for prints. Laurence, I'd like to ask you a couple questions.
Walker: Well, I'd be glad to
help.
Bo: All right, why don't we
step outside here.
Dorian: Oh, what am I going
to do? Bo thinks I killed Mitch. You know I didn't.
Blair: Do I?
Dorian: Blair, how can you
even think like that?
Blair: No, I didn't before,
Dorian, but now I'm beginning to wonder.
*~*
Nora: Yes, is Bo Buchanan
there? OK, I'll try him on his cell phone, thanks.
Gabrielle: Nora, why do you
need to reach Bo?
Nora: About the case.
Gabrielle: Oh, of course.
Nora: Are you all right,
Gabrielle?
Gabrielle: Oh, yes. I'm fine.
Nora: Are you upset about Bo
missing the dinner?
Gabrielle: No, I'm fine with
that. Really, I'm fine. Excuse me.
*~*
Walker: What's with all these
questions, Bo? Thought I was cleared.
Bo: Well, yeah, I just
thought maybe you could shed some light on the case.
Walker: Uh-huh. How?
Bo: Well, let's start with,
what did Mitch say the last time you saw him in jail?
Walker: Same old. Ranting
about everybody, dropping Bible quotes.
Bo: Did he mention anything
about visits from Dorian, Blair?
Walker: Like what?
Bo: Like why did they visit?
Walker: Blair wanted to know
if Todd Manning was alive or not.
Bo: Hmm. What about Dorian?
Walker: Oh, she wanted to
know if he had any money stashed anywhere.
Bo: Did he?
Walker: How would I know?
Aren't you the detective? Figure it out. Anyway, he said he didn't tell her
either way.
Bo: There anything else? Did
they fight about the money?
Walker: Well, the guard -- he
told me Dorian laid that old double-jeopardy bit on him -- you know, can't be
tried for the same crime twice. It was like something out of an old movie, huh?
Bo: Hmm. When Dorian showed
up at the Palace there, how'd she seem?
Walker: Wet. Mad. Weren't you
there when you questioned her?
Bo: Well, I guess that's it,
for now.
Dorian: All right, Bo, going
to arrest me or not?
Dorian: OK, go ahead, do it.
Cuff me.
Bo: Oh, Dorian, you know I
don't arrest people unless I have evidence against them. But, you know, I might
get the evidence, so -- no, you know the drill. Just don't think about leaving
town.
Dorian: I have no reason to.
Bo: I hope not. Because if
you did it, if you killed Mitch, I will find out.
Dorian: Hmm.
*~*
Waiter: Can we get you
anything else this evening?
Gabrielle: Oh, a couple of
aspirin? That's OK. Just the bill.
Waiter: Sure.
Gabrielle: Thanks.
Gabrielle: I'm so sorry.
Bo: You? God, I'm the one
that goofed everything up.
Gabrielle: I shouldn't have
quarreled with you.
Bo: Well, you were upset. I
mean, nobody would blame you.
Gabrielle: It doesn't matter.
None of that matters. I just don't want to lose you.
Bo: We had one fight.
Gabrielle: I can't bear
fighting with you because I love you so much.
Bo: Oh, if this is making up,
I might just pick another fight with you.
Gabrielle: Don't you dare.
Don't you dare. I won't. I just have to learn to share you with other people,
that's all.
Bo: Yeah, I know that the job
gets in the way. I'm sorry.
Gabrielle: It's OK. It's
really OK because they just need you as much as I need you, and that's one of
the things that I love so much about you is your commitment to your work, and to
your family and to your son.
Bo: I'm going to try not to
let everything else take so much time away from you, though.
Gabrielle: No, no. I'm going
to try to be a part of things.
Bo: OK.
Gabrielle: Like this baseball
game that you're taking Matthew to.
Bo: Yeah, it's the day after
tomorrow.
Gabrielle: Would you mind if
I joined you? Because I'd like to get to know him better.
Bo: That'd be great. I would
love that.
*~*
Bo: So the game's in the
afternoon. I thought I'd pick him up, maybe we'd have lunch first.
Nora: That sounds great. He
is so looking forward to this. If you have a minute, can I just ask you a couple
questions and tell you a couple things about the case?
Bo: Yeah, sure. Honey, you
mind?
Gabrielle: Oh, no, not in the
least.
Nora: I'm sorry.
Waiter: Ms. Medina, I have
your bill.
Gabrielle: Yeah, thank you.
Bo: Whoa, whoa. I'll take
care of that.
Gabrielle: No, no, darling,
what are you doing?
Bo: Well, jeez, it's the
least I can do. You know, I stood you up for dinner and then made you eat alone.
Unless you found some other company.
Gabrielle: No. No.
Bo: Yeah, you bet.
[Phone rings]
Gabrielle: Excuse me. Hello?
Troy: Hey, Gabrielle. It's
Troy. Listen, I just -- I just wanted to call you and tell you that I had such a
great time tonight and I'd love to do it again, if you're available.
Gabrielle: I'm sorry, you
have the wrong number.
