Looking for Lion's Heart
June 23, 2003
Antonio: Commissioner, we're in the Lenape Forest as we speak. These trees must be 100 years old. What's up with the choppers?
Bo: They were over the area, made several passes, and they were ordered back to the base.
Antonio: Why? We need all the help we can get.
Bo: Yeah, but their searchlights are useless right now. They bounce right off the fog.
Antonio: Yeah, it's getting pretty rough for us, too.
Walker: Ask if they've spotted either of the markers.
Antonio: Were the choppers able to spot the waterfall or that granite ledge?
Bo: Yeah, but no house. Antonio, this is an old-growth forest. You know, it's tough to find something like that in canopy that's this thick.
Antonio: Then we're just going to have to find it ourselves.
Bo: We've got three teams working their way in, but this -- this wilderness area, it's huge.
Antonio: We have the coordinates for the waterfall and the granite ledge. We'll get there somehow.
Bo: Antonio, look, a forest that thick -- it can be really tricky at night, so maybe you ought to stay put and then move at first light.
Antonio: Jessica might not have till first light.
Bo: Yeah, but our evidence is circumstantial. We don't even know that there's a manor house out there.
Antonio: Commissioner, if it's out there, we'll find it.
*~*
Bo: Voice mail.
Cristian: Antonio wouldn't shut his phone off, would he?
Bo: No, but he may have left his vehicle, you know, and started moving into the woods.
Natalie: Which means he gets no signal and --
Bo: And we get voice mail.
Natalie: Mm-hmm.
Bo: You know, if this fog doesn't let up, he may have a hell of a time finding anything at all.
Natalie: You know, it's already so dark in the woods, it's hard to see anything at all anyway.
Cristian: Mm-hmm. You can't see a thing in this fog.
Bo: Well, Antonio and Mitch's brother -- they have flashlights but that's about it.
Natalie: Well, what if they get lost? I mean, that's pretty easy to do in the forest.
Cristian: Well, even if he found an open space and tried to signal us, we wouldn't be able to see him in this fog.
Bo: And all the helicopters are grounded right now. I hate to say it, but until morning, your brother's on his own.
*~*
Bo: How soon will the fog lift? Can you tell? Be right back. Well, then how soon can I get choppers up over the area again?
