From Forbidden Fruit to A Love Renewed

Part 1

Harrisburg, Pa

She left the conference steam flowing between her ears. He had tried to catch her but he was stopped by the ringing of his phone. He grabbed her arm, but one look from her and he knew it was best to just let her go.

It was a rainy night

The tears of anger flowing down her face matched the intensity of the rain hitting the windshield as she drove around town, she was driving aimlessly, “Damn you Asa, Damn you and your money, I’ll be damned if you ever lay one hand on MY son.” With that she slammed her hands on the steering wheel.

Wiping the rain once again out of his eyes, ‘Dammit Gabrielle, why can’t you understand, Nora is part of my past, you are my future,’ he played with the ring in his pocket, ‘maybe it’s time I made it official.’

It was a rainy night

When he came into sight,
Standing by the road,
No umbrella, no coat.

She saw him walking along the road, she would know that walk, that profile anywhere, as a million thoughts went through her mind of what the right thing to do was, she pulled up beside him, ‘Hell with it, to hell with it all.’

He would know the voice anywhere, a frown started to creep on his face as he looked at her, “Hey No…”

She just shook her head no, “No names, it’s easier that way.”

So I pulled up alongside

They drove for what seemed like hours, but in reality was a mere minute. The tension in the car was overwhelming, but neither wanted to speak, neither knew what was going to happen, but they knew what they wanted and maybe here, away from everything and everyone they knew, they could have tonight.

“The rain is coming down awfully hard, maybe we should pull off?” He pointed to the hotel up ahead. She nodded, understanding the hidden meaning, there would only be one room rented…

He went to the desk walking outside with the key, holding his hand out for her to take, “Well, blue eyes, what number?”

“13,” a smile formed on his lips as his eyes started to sparkle. “So, if I’m blue eyes, what should I call you?”

A puzzled look overcame her face, as she caught the fluorescent glare of the hotel sign, The Garden of Eden, the expression was replaced be a smirk, “Just call me Eve.”

“Eve” he raised his eyebrows, she glanced again at the neon sign, “ahhhh.” He laughed.

“Well, Eve, this is us.” He unlocked the door and followed her inside. As soon as the door shut she turned to face him. He started to speak; she put her finger to his lips.

Her hands ran up his back, playing with the hair at the back of his neck as his lips left hers to find where her bra had been just seconds before. He took her breast in his mouth, teasing her nipple with his tongue, caressing the other with his thumb.
