Clearing Al
June 6, 2003
Dorian: Mitch could see and hear Viki and me inside Llanfair. So that means he has to have been inside the house or -- or just outside of it.
Viki: Bo, I thought you had police up at Llanfair.
Bo: You thought right. Marston? I want to know who's on that detail at Llanfair -- now!
Dorian: He's concerned. I'm so relieved.
Hank: Dorian, take it easy. Bo's got a detail of cops covering Llanfair.
Dorian: "Take it easy"? This is the man who almost murdered my sister and who has threatened every member of my family!
Viki: Dorian, they understand the situation. There's just no point in carrying on like this, really. Bo, we -- we thought it would be better for our own safety to come here rather than to wait at Llanfair.
Bo: You did the right thing.
Viki: Thanks.
Bo: And I'm going to find out why police presence wasn't enough, and I'll increase it.
Viki: Thanks.
Dorian: Really? And what good will that do? Mitch seems to be able to come and go wherever, whenever he pleases. He waltzed right into St. Ann's and attacked my sister!
Nora: Dorian, we'll get him!
Dorian: Oh? When will that be, Nora? When it's too late?
*~*
Viki: We're ok. I mean, we're all right. He didn't hurt Dorian and me. It's just the whole experience was a little unsettling.
Dorian: That's your mother's expression for "terrifying."
Jessica: He was right there at Llanfair?
Viki: Well, we -- we don't know. We think he probably was just outside looking in, yes.
Jessica: I don't understand. Why wasn't he spotted? Isn't that why the police are there?
Dorian: Jessica, there are the police, and then there is the Llanview police department.
Nora: Frankly, we're all a little stumped because your uncle had a four-man team patrolling the grounds.
Jessica: I guess nothing can stop him, then. He shows up wherever he likes, right?
Antonio: Commissioner?
Bo: What's that?
Antonio: 20 or so of these were found at the gallery. My brother's paintings were taken down. These were put up instead.
Viki: Oh, that's the picture that Mitch stole from Llanfair.
Bo: Are the rest of the photos still at the gallery?
Antonio: Forensics are on their way there now.
Nora: That man is unbelievable.
Viki: Bo, you have to find him. He's totally out of control.
*~*
Bo: Can I help you with something, Dorian?
Dorian: Yes. You can find Mitch Laurence.
*~*
Hank: Bo, I don't think there's anything wrong with the plan you've got in place.
Bo: Except that he showed up at Llanfair and the gallery. Nobody noticed him.
[Voices]
Nora: Do you have police on overtime?
Bo: Yeah, everybody in the department.
*~*
Antonio: Excuse me.
Officer: Hey --
brad: Ok, thank you. Ok, thank you. You can let go now. Let go --
Antonio: Shut up. How'd it go?
Officer: Like clockwork. He sold to the decoy and took our money.
Antonio: Great.
Brad: You guys are pathetic. You can't prove anything. It's this punk's word against mine.
Antonio: Are you serious? What are you, stupid? No, don't --
brad: Yeah.
Antonio: Don't answer that. We got you for the sale, which was witnessed. You got paid with marked money. Not to mention possession with intent to distribute.
Hank: All right. Looks like you'll be getting real familiar with prison life in Statesville.
Bo: Nice work, everybody. Marcie, I don't think this quite fits into your job description.
Marcie: No, sir.
Bo: Excuse me. Young man, you deserve a special thanks. What you did took guts.
Riley: No problem.
Marcie: Brad is the one who put the drugs in al's room.
Al: Yeah, for shoving him.
Marcie: Can't you force him to admit it now?
Hank: Go for a plea.
Nora: Brad, do you have any idea how many years you're facing?
Brad: I got nothing to say without a lawyer.
Nora: Well, that's good, because I've got lots to say, so I'll do all the talking. You know, the drug problem on campus has been front page every day. Every day. And whether this takes six months or six weeks, no judge is going to be in the mood to be easy on you, so I think your best bet, probably, is to get the charges reduced from the outset.
Brad: Then reduce them.
Hank: Look, we know you put the drugs in al Holden's room.
Nora: You come clean with that, and we will help you out. That's how it works.
Brad: I didn't put the drugs in al Holden's room. Rex Balsom did.
*~*
Rex: You lying piece of scum! I had nothing to do with those drugs in Holden's room.
Brad: If you want to deny it, go ahead.
Marcie: Brad is the one who's lying.
Flash: The guy does nothing but lie --
Antonio: Have a seat, all right? You're giving me a headache. It's obvious you're not smart enough to know when to shut up.
Brad: What?
Antonio: You were asked a direct question, and you lied. Let's see -- what does he get for lying to a police officer, hank? Two years?
Hank: Three years.
Joey: He's also impeding a criminal investigation, isn't he?
Brad: Give me a break, would you, father?
Hank: That's 18 months.
Nora: Ok, you have a really small window of opportunity, and when it closes, you could be in way too deep for any of us to help you.
Bo: Forget it, Nora. There's other ways to exonerate Al Holden. I want this guy to go away until he's at least 65.
Antonio: That is if he survives that long. That little shirt and long hair -- boy, the boys at Statesville are going to love you.
Nora: Ok, I can get you down at least two counts, but you got to help me out here, and i don't have all day.
Brad: Ok. Ok, ok, ok, ok, ok. I planted the drugs in al Holden's room.
Marcie and al: Yes!
Brad: Satisfied?
[Phone rings]
Bo: Book him.
Al: See you later, brad. I -- man, thank you so much. I mean, you were -- you were great.
Antonio: Hey, hey, hey, none of this would have happened unless Marcie over there wouldn't have kept bugging everybody.
Marcie: Commissioner?
Bo: Yeah?
Marcie: Blair Cramer's on line two. She says it's urgent.
Bo: Thanks. Blair, what's going on?
Blair: Bo, you got to get to clear lake fast. Mitch was here, and he shot walker. And the cop that was here? He's dead.
Bo: We'll be right there.
Bo: Antonio, Laurence just surfaced. We're out of here.
Antonio: Fill out these forms. Give them to Marcie when you're done.
*~*
Hank: Dispatcher says we've got ambulances on the way to clear lake. Bo called from his car.
Nora: Ambulances? For whom?
Bo: It's Harvey Hamlin.
Antonio: Had a wife and kid, didn't he?
Bo: Yeah, three. Check on the ambulance. Tell them they're going to be transporting one of our own.
Antonio: Blair in the house?
Bo: Yeah, I told her to stick around here. We haven't found Mitch -- but you know Blair. She probably wants to see about walker.
Viki: Because you know --
[phone rings]
Dorian: Hello.
Blair: Dorian, it's me. Something terrible's happened.
Dorian: Blair, where are you?
Blair: I'm at Clear Lake, the house where Mitch and Walker grew up.
[Explosion]
Bo: What the hell was that? Blair.
Antonio: Blair.
