Clear Lake

June 9, 2003

Antonio: Commissioner?

Bo: Yeah?

Antonio: There's no sign of Blair or Walker.

Bo: Or Mitch. But this explosion was all his. I mean, you can bet on that.

Antonio: Commissioner, they could still be alive in there.

Bo: Antonio, look, if anybody was in the house, they're not coming out.

Antonio: Blair!

[Wind blows]

Antonio: I'm going to go take another look around.

*~*

Dorian: I know what I heard. I was talking on the phone with Blair, and then there was this horrible explosion.

Nora: Ok, Dorian, calm down. Bo and Antonio are at Clear Lake right now.

Hank: Yeah, but what were Blair and Mitch's brother doing there?

Dorian: Isn't it obvious? They were looking for Mitch, only the explosion must mean that he found them first.

*~*

[Antonio coughs]

Antonio: Oh, man. Now I know why I didn't become a fireman.

Bo: Yeah.

Antonio: You find something?

Bo: Small. Could be a woman's.

Antonio: Blair's?

Bo: Oh, if it is --

*~*

Dorian: Why don't you give me this address of this -- this lake house of Mitch's.

Hank: Dorian, the police will handle it.

Dorian: Oh --

Nora: Dorian, go home.

Dorian: Oh.

Nora: No, go home. We'll call you if there's anything to tell you.

Dorian: Go home and do what, Nora? Put my feet up? I mean, I heard an explosion while I was talking on the phone to Blair!

Hank: There's nothing else to tell you, Dorian.

Dorian: Why don't I just call the commissioner. What's his number, please?

[Phone rings]

Nora: Nora Buchanan.

Bo: Nora, it's Bo.

Nora: Hi. What's up?

Bo: We're -- we're still at Lawrence's bungalow. There -- there was an explosion. It was bad. Probably gas.

Nora: I heard.

Bo: You heard? How did you hear?

Nora: Um, can't -- hard to say.

Bo: What, do you mean you can't say?

Nora: That's right.

Bo: Why? Who's there? Dorian?

Nora: Yes. So what's going on?

Bo: It's not good.

Nora: What does that mean?

Bo: There's no sign of Blair, Mitch, or his brother, and we found a jacket or what's left of a jacket, and we're pretty sure it's Blair's.

Nora: What do you think?

Bo: I don't know where she is or what kind of shape she's in or if she even made it out of here.

Nora: Bye.

Dorian: That was Bo, wasn't it? Oh, dear God. oh, dear God. dear God, no.

*~*

Bo: How's it going?

Antonio: There's no sign of any bodies.

Bo: Well, they made it out.

Antonio: Yeah, but did they ever make it in?

Bo: We know Blair was on her way in.

Antonio: Yeah, but did she actually make it into the house?

Bo: I just talked to Hank on the phone. He said that Dorian had gotten a call from Blair. Now, Dorian heard an explosion, and then nothing.

Antonio: Damn it, there's got to be something in here.

Antonio: Commissioner?

Bo: Yeah?

Antonio: Some kind of schematics.

Bo: This is a blueprint for the entire sewer system of Llanview.

Antonio: Yeah, but why does Lawrence have it?

Bo: I got a pretty good hunch.

*~*

Antonio: The fire captain said there's a second flare-up in the attic. We're ordered out.

Bo: Ok, well, I want to check on Blair. Nora said she was taken to the hospital.

Antonio: Oh, well, thank God she's safe. But where the hell are Walker and Lawrence?

Bo: I think these might help.

Antonio: How?

Bo: I'll tell you on the way.

Antonio: All right.

*~*

Dorian: Don't you ever do anything like this again. I mean, you scared me so. You worried 20 years off my life.

Blair: Stop.

Dorian: Oh, Blair --

Troy: How's she doing?

Dorian: Well, doctor, I'm sure you're going to tell us. How is she doing?

Troy: Well, she suffered some smoke inhalation. But other than that, physically, she's going to be fine. They need you to fill out some forms at the front desk.

Nora: Hey. you feeling ok enough to answer some questions? Ok. We know you went up to Mitch's house at Clear Lake.

Blair: With walker. Ahem.

Hank: Why?

Blair: To find Mitch.

Nora: Which you did.

Blair: He pulled a gun on me, wanted to shoot me. Walker jumped in the way. Mitch fired the gun. He shot walker. Walker saved my life.

Nora: What happened to Mitch?

Blair: He ran out. Then I went to look for some help, but the police officer was dead.

Hank: Yeah, we know.

[Blair coughs]

Hank: Did you find Mitch?

Blair: I went back to the house --

Nora: To look for Walker?

Blair: But he was gone. Then there was an explosion, and it was in the back of the house, but I smelled -- I smelled the gas.

Nora: Gas? Do you think Mitch set if off?

Blair: I don't know. There was fire everywhere. There was no way out.

Hank: But you got out.

Blair: Yeah, I -- I found a blanket and I soaked it in water and then I wrapped it around me and I ran. Ahem -- I ran through the fire.

[Blair coughs]

Dorian: Please. Would you two leave? I think Blair has had quite enough --

Blair: Thank you, thank you.

Dorian: Questioning. She can't take it anymore.

Nora: How did Walker get out of there if he was shot?

Hank: Maybe Mitch took him.

Nora: Where?

Blair: Nora --

Nora: Yeah?

Blair: Nora, when Mitch showed up, he was wet.

Nora: He was wet? Why? It wasn't raining.

Blair: He said that he'd been swimming with his clothes on.

Hank: So he swam there?

Nora: Right -- up the Llantano river all the way to Clear Lake?

Bo: There's another possibility.

*~*

Bo: This is Llanfair. This is Dorian's house.

Nora: They're connected?

Bo: Mm-hmm, by a maze of storm drain tunnels.

Hank: Yeah. That's how Mitch is getting around town.

Bo: All right, check this out. They all converge right here, this long, narrow central tunnel. It's a chamber and it's right underneath the old Pyramid theater.
