~When You Lie Next To Me~

Their lives have been a whirlwind of change since fate stepped in almost two months before and they found themselves trapped together, not once but twice. Truth be told their lives have been changing since they first found themselves becoming a family of three, the family they were meant to be all those years ago.

Bo stands in front of the long bank of mirrors in the men’s locker room of the LPD. He couldn’t believe that today of all days he had been stuck working until the last possible minute. Tonight was the night, the night they would take that final step to becoming an ‘us’ again. He had every detail planned, from the romantic Italian dinner at Sfizzio’s in Philadelphia’s prestigious Society Hill, the carriage ride through the historic district, and the midnight walk along the waterfront at Penn’s Landing.

He had reserved the Presidential suite at the Four Season’s Hotel, overlooking historical Logan Square, with the beautiful Art Museum just on the horizon. He wanted every thing to be perfect for her, for them. He straightens his bow-tie and adjusts his cummerbund, before running his hands through his hair one last time.

He steps back, releasing a deep sigh as he pulls open the door. He walks towards his office and grabs his tuxedo jacket off the coat rack in the corner. He opens the bottom drawer of his desk and drops his holster and gun, securing them within. He turns off the lamp on his desk and shuts his office door.

Marcie looks up from her desk, a smile spreading across her face when she sees him closing his office door behind him, “Wow, Commissioner, special evening planned?”

He takes a flower out of the bouquet he’s holding and hands it to her, “Very special, Marcie,” he says with a wink, “John and Antonio are in charge for the weekend. I’ll see you on Monday.”

“Have a good time, Commissioner,” Marcie says with a giggle.

Across town Nora is standing in front of her full length mirror, soft music playing in the background as she puts the final touches on her makeup. She walks over to her bed and picks up a black silk dress she and Evangeline had picked out the day before at Logan’s. She remembers the way she felt in the dress as she stood in the dressing room. She had wanted to find a dress that would blow Bo away and after trying on a dozen dresses she had finally found the one.

Its sequined bodice dances in the light as she takes each breath. The spaghetti straps accentuate her shoulders, the low-cut shape leaving very little to the imagination as it hugs her breasts in all the right places. The slit rising to the top of her hip shows off her shapely legs. She sits down on her bed and places her foot in her shoe, fastening the strap across her ankles.

She walks back over to the mirror and turns to the right and then to the left, running her hands down the front of the dress. She runs her fingers through her hair once more, tucking a few strands behind her ear, showing off the diamond earrings she bought to go with the dress.

She grabs the shawl off the back of her chair and makes her way downstairs where Matthew and MaryAnn were waiting. Matthew turns and hangs over the back of the couch when he hears her making her way down the stairs. She steps off the landing and turns around, “So, what do you think?”

“You look beautiful, Mrs. Buchanan,” MaryAnn says with a smile, “Commissioner Buchanan sure is a lucky man.”

“Yeah, mom, you’re gonna knock dad’s socks off.”

Nora bows and walks over, placing a kiss on the top of his head, “Why, thank you kind, sir.”

Just as Nora was about to take a seat to wait for Bo’s arrival the doorbell rings, “I’ll get it,” Matthew yells as he jumps off the couch.

Matthew pulls Bo into the house, “Mom’s gonna knock your socks off, dad.” He leads Bo into the living room, “Doesn’t she look beautiful?”

Bo stares at her from across the room, his heart beating rapidly as he takes in the sight of her. He couldn’t think of a time when she looked more beautiful. He walks towards her and hands her the flowers. She smiles her thank you, placing the flowers on the coffee table. Matthew and MaryAnn leave for the movies, unnoticed by either. Bo takes her hand, “Beautiful is an understatement, Red. You look absolutely breathtaking.”

She reaches out and straightens his tie, “Well, you look pretty breathtaking yourself there, Commissioner.”

They kiss quickly, before he takes her hand and leads her out to the waiting limo. An hour later they are being led to a quiet table for two. They eat, drink, and dance the evening away, falling deeper in love with each other as each second passes. Just before eleven, he leads her out of the restaurant. He helps her into the horse-drawn carriage, pulling her close against him as they slowly stroll through the cobblestone streets of historic Philadelphia. They listen to the driver as he tells them the history of the city, stealing kisses when they can.

The elderly driver turns in his seat, catching them in a kiss. He smiles a knowing smile as he thinks of his own love sitting at home. Soon their carriage ride ends and they walk through the busy streets towards the waterfront. They walk hand in hand, under the stars, watching the moonlight as it dances across the river. The boats lining Boathouse Row light up the night sky, casting their own glow across the water. The ships sail by as other lovers join them on their midnight walk.

They walk passed a group of street musicians as they play into the night. He stops and pulls her against him. They begin to dance along the waterfront, neither noticing the crowd of people who pause for a moment to stare at the lovers. Their dance soon ends and he takes her hand in his once again and they meet up with the limo waiting for them. Moments later they are walking through the spacious lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel.

They enter the elevator, both cracking a joke about their most recent elevator experience. Soon the doors open and the bell boy is showing them to their suite. He hands Bo the key card after placing their bags in the bedroom. Nora circles the spacious suite, taking in the early Federal period décor, and the flowers that Bo had specifically requested to be placed throughout the suite.

She turns and looks at Bo who is removing the bottle of champagne from the chiller. He pours two glasses and walks towards where’s standing out on the terrace, overlooking Logan Square and the fountain in the courtyard below.

Bo hands her the glass and raises his. He leans in and kisses her, “I love you so much, Red, and tonight we’re going to celebrate this love we’ve found again.” They touch their glasses and each take a sip, before placing them down on the terrace table.

She reaches out and lays her hand on his cheek, wrapping her other arm around his neck, “I love you, too, Bo. I never in my wildest dreams thought we would be here again. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this happy.”

He captures her lips in a passionate kiss, their champagne forgotten as they get lost in each other. He breaks their kiss after a moment and takes her hand, leading her back into the suite, towards the bedroom.

He closes the bedroom door, locking out the world. He lights a few candles before making his way back over to where she stands in the middle of the room. He brings his lips down onto hers once again, parting her lips with his tongue, as he deepens their kiss. Her hands slips around his neck, running her fingers through his hair as their tongues continue to participate in their passionate dance.

Maybe, tonight, we could close the door and lock ourselves inside
Take time to feel
I don't wanna miss the chance to be so real
The days all fly away
And I forget the truth
Everything that matters is in this room

Soon his lips travel from her lips towards her neck, to that spot just below her ear. He reaches behind her, slowly lowering the zipper of her dress as his tongue continues its assault on her neck. She reaches between them and begins to unbutton his shirt as his hands slip inside the back of her dress, running up and down her back.

His lips travel down her neck and across her collarbone, stopping on her shoulder as he lowers the straps of her dress down her arms, following the trail with his tongue. Her hands slip inside his shirt, lowering it down his arms. She runs her hands back up his chest as his mouth begins to travel back across her chest, his tongue caressing the top of her breasts.

He reaches between them, unhooking the clasp of her bra, revealing her fully to him. Her bra falls to the floor as she begins to unfasten his pants, slowly lowering them over his hips. He steps out of them, pulling her against him once again. He turns her in his embrace, their mouths once again locked in a passionate kiss as he lowers her onto the bed.

He lies beside her, running his finger lovingly down the side of her face, before kissing her once again. He brings his tongue back down to her breasts as he runs his fingertips along her sides and down to her hips stopping at the waistband of her black lace panties. He slowly lowers her panties over her hips. He looks at her lying there naked in front of him and his breath catches in his throat. She looks more beautiful if that was even possible. He brings his mouth back up to her breast. A moan escapes from deep within her as he takes one breast in his mouth and the other in his hand. She arches her back, urging him to take more of her into his mouth.

When you lie next to me
Breathin' the air I breathe
We don't have to speak
And just be

Our love's a precious thing
Don't wanna waste a day
Or one more minute
Without you in it
Life if so sweet
When you lie next to me

He continues to pleasure her with his mouth as she reaches between them and removes his silk boxers; joining the other clothes on the floor. She took his desire in her hands and began to pleasure him as he trails kisses down her chest and across her stomach.

He places soft kisses on every bit of her body, causing her to whisper his name in pleasure. His fingers slowly trail up her thighs nearing her moist center. She arches her body in response to his touch; reaching up and grabbing the headboard; his touch bringing her such pleasure.

My heart is yours
But every part of me still wants to give you more
More time to love
Cause you never know when life will leave us
I wanna take in all the beauty here
Let the world around us just disappear

Her grip on the headboard tightens as she feels his breath against her center. Another moan escapes from deep down as his tongue makes contact with her sweet center. She arches her body; opening her legs wider; his tongue reaching deeper inside of her. He knew she was close to the edge and he wanted to make it last as long as possible. He broke contact with her center; causing her to moan his name in protest. He kisses up her stomach; stopping for a moment on her breasts; before capturing her mouth in another passionate kiss. Her body arches against his: her need to feel him inside her; his body responding to her movements.

When you lie next to me
Breathin' the air I breathe
We don't have to speak
And just be

Our love's a precious thing
Don't wanna waste a day
Or one more minute
Without you in it
Life if so sweet
When you lie next to me

He reaches up and removes her hands from the headboard; intertwining his fingers with hers as they rest above her head, “Make love to me, Bo”, she whispers as he continues to kiss her neck.

He responds to her whispered request by taking her lips in his. She opens her legs beneath him; giving him access and all the room he needs to enter her. He slips his erection between her moist folds, a deep moan escaping from deep within them both as their bodies began their dance. Her tongue hungrily seeks his, as his hands explore her body. Her fingers dig deep into his back as she runs her hands down, reaching out to pull him further into her. She wraps her legs around his waist as they easily fall into their familiar rhythm; fast and then slowing down, both taking each other to places they haven’t been too with other lovers.

As he feels her tighten around him he takes her mouth in another passionate kiss wanting to be as connected with her as possible when she came knowing he was going to come with her, their climax leaving their bodies rocked with their released passion.

When you lie next to me
Breathin' the air I breathe
We don't have to speak
And just be

Our love's a precious thing
Don't wanna waste a day
Or one more minute
Without you in it

He rolls over, pulling her on top of him, their bodies remaining connected in the most intimate way. He kisses her before lying back against the pillow. She looks deep in his eyes, “I love you so much, Bo. You’ve made this night a dream come true. I’ve never known or been loved like this except when I’m with you,” she whispers in the candlelight, as she caresses his cheek.

“YOU, Red, you are my dream come true. Never have I felt a love like this. I will live every day, for the rest of my life, celebrating this love, and making all your dreams come true.” he says, through his tears, as he wipes the tears from her cheeks.

She lays her head against his chest; loving the feel of him still being inside her. She circles her fingertips over his chest as he wraps his arms around her; holding her tight.

They both know it won’t be long before they were ready to bring each other to the edge once again. She feels him harden inside of her and as she looks deep into his eyes their dance begins again, knowing that nothing was more precious than having the one you love lying next to you…for the rest of your life…
