Chapter Four:

Bo looked on as she slept peacefully, a smile still on her face. He looked up when he heard a soft knock on the door. He laid her hand back down onto the bed, careful not to wake her. He walked over and opened the door, "Hi, Olivia." He turns and looks back at Nora, "Let's talk out here." He closes the door and they walk over to the chairs across the hall, "So what happened in court today?"

"We won. Gabrielle was found guilty of kidnapping. There will be a sentencing hearing in a few weeks but for all intents and purposes it's over."

Bo nodded his head, sad that things had ended the way they had between him and Gabrielle but happy that that part of their lives was over; they could finally move on. Bo looked up and smiled, "Thank you Olivia, for everything. I know Nora will want details but I don't want to wake her. She had a rough time of it and she's exhausted."

"How's the baby?"

Bo's smile broadened at the mention of his little girl, "She's doing great. Nora was in more danger than the baby because of how fast the contractions were coming, but every one is fine and they should be able to go home tomorrow some time."

"That's great, I'm so happy for the two of you." She glances down at her watch, "Well I better get to the office. I've got to get the sentencing recommendation written up for the interim DA to approve. I'll stop by the house after you get settled."

"That would be great. I know Nora would love that, and once things get settled we'll need to sit down and you'll have to bring me back up to speed on the Marcellano case."

"Will do." she stands to leave but turns back around and looks at Bo, "I really wish we weren't keeping this from Nora."

"She was under too much stress already with the kidnapping and the pregnancy, and now she has the baby and Matthew is still having nightmares. She does not need anything else adding to her stress."

"But...the letters. She should..."

He lays his hand on her arm, "Olivia, trust me."

Nora stands in the doorway of her room watching the exchange between her husband and her number one ADA. Something felt off but she dismissed it, chalking it up to exhaustion. She slowly walked over to join them, "Hey there husband of mine."

Bo puts his arm around her shoulders and kisses her temple, "Hey yourself. Shouldn't you still be in bed?"

"I'm fine." She smiles up at him and turns her attention to Olivia, "So is it over?"

"Yeah, it's over. She was found guilty and we have the sentencing in about two weeks." She looks between the two of them, "Listen, I better get back to the office. I need to work on the sentencing recommendation. I'll come by and see you once you get settled at home."

"Thank you, Olivia."

"Just doing my job," she glances back and forth between them again, "I'll make sure to give you a call as soon as we have a hearing date for sentencing."

They thank her once again as she steps onto the elevator. Bo turns Nora back towards her room, "Come on, mommy. You need to get back in bed."

"What were you and Olivia talking about when I walked up? It sounded important."

"It was nothing." He kissed her cheek, "Come one, you need to rest."

"I don't want to rest anymore. I want to see our baby girl. Can you go get her for me?"

"Of course, let's get you settled in bed first."

Bo helped her back up onto the bed, covering her with the blanket before leaning in to kiss her softly on the lips, "I'll be right back, Red."

"I'll be waiting."

Bo walked down the long hallway, stopping in front of the nursery window. He smiled when he saw her lying there; wrapped in her pink blanket. He knocked on the door and waited for them to let him in. A moment later he was standing beside her bassinet, the tears beginning to well up in his eyes at the sight before him. She had her mother's red hair and his blue eyes, but in every other way she looked just like her brother. The nurse came over and re checked the bands they both wore on their wrists and a few minutes later Destiny Renee was on her way to see her mother.

Bo pushed the door open and pushed the bassinet along side the bed. Nora had drifted off to sleep but this time Bo decided to wake her. He leaned in and kissed her causing her eyes to flutter open, "Wake up, sleepy head someone's here to see her mommy."

Nora smiled up at him, falling more in love with her husband as he leaned over the bassinet smiling and talking to their little girl. He picked her up, cradling her in his strong arms. Bo looked over and saw the tears in Nora's eyes, "What's the matter, honey?"

"You missed this with Matthew," she said through her tears.

He walked over and handed the baby to her before sitting down beside her on the bed; pulling them both close, "Nora, honey, that's in the past. We've moved on, we've put it behind us. Matthew and I have our future together, no need to dwell on the past."

He reached out and wiped the tears off her cheeks, "I know, it's just seeing you with her in your arms made me think about all that the two of you missed out on." He gave her a look, a look that let her know every thing was going to be just fine, "Right, no more bringing up the past."

Bo sat beside her on the bed, holding her close as she fed their daughter. They sat in silence for a long time just watching her as she slept in her mother's arms. Soon Bo could hear Nora's slow steady breathing. He carefully picked Destiny up laid her in the bassinet.

He pulled his cell phone off his belt and walked out into the hallway, "Agent McBain. Yes, this is Bo Buchanan, Commissioner of Police here in Llanview, Pennsylvania...I was told that you were running the show down there in Atlantic City, especially in regards to the Marcellano case...Yes that's right Antonio Marcellano. He's trying to push product and guns through my jurisdiction and I want him stopped...A meeting...yeah I think we should meet...Three o'clock day after tomorrow sounds perfect." Bo gave him directions and his cell number before walking back into Nora's room. She was awake and flipping through the channels.

She looked up and smiled, turning off the TV, throwing the remote down on the bed beside her, "Nothing good on?"

"Nope, but that's okay, I'd rather just sit here in your arms. You know we're not going to have many more moments like this once we get home, between Matthew's busy little life and this little one here."

He smiled, that smile, "I know...and I can't wait."

Nora and Destiny were released from the hospital the following morning. They walked up to the front door, a huge crooked "Welcome Home" sign taped to the front door. Matthew had been waiting less than patiently for them to come home. He ran to the door when he heard the key in the lock. He wrapped his arms around Nora's legs, "Yay! You're home."

Nora walked into the living room, Matthew's arms still wrapped around her. She sat down on the couch, carefully pulling Matthew up onto her lap, "Boy, I sure did miss you, sweetie. I hope you were good for Granma and Granpa."

He looked over at Asa and Renee who were both beaming, "I was good. Wasn't I Granpa?"

Asa smiled as he grabbed Renee's hand, "You sure were, partner."

He turned his attention back to his little sister, "Can I hold her?"

"You bet. Sit down here beside me and your dad will help you hold her."

Bo carefully placed Destiny in Matthew's arms. Nora looked up at Bo who was sitting on the arm of the couch. He took her hand in his and brought it up to his lips. The case, the letters, the phone calls, all of it was pushed out of his mind as he looked at his family, thankful for all that he had been blessed with and their second chance to be a family.
