Part Two:
Bo walked out of her guest bathroom dressed in a navy blue polo shirt and kaki shorts. He smiled when he saw her walking out of her room, wearing a flowered sundress, the length of the skirt showing off her shapely legs. He whistled when she walked towards him, “You still have the best legs in town, Red.”
She finished making her way towards him, a mischievous smile on her face, “Flattery will get you everywhere, Buchanan,” her earlier reluctance gone when she saw the way his eyes danced when he looked at her, “Well let’s get this show on the road.”
He held his arm out to her and she placed hers through it. He took her bag in his other hand and escorted her down the stairs and out to the waiting limo. The chauffeur opened the door for her helping her in. Bo walked around to the other side and slid into the seat beside her. He reached out in front of him and pushed the CD into the player.
She leaned her head back and sighed, the music coming from the CD bringing back so many familiar memories and feelings. He looked at her out of the corner of his eye and smiled. He reached down and laid his hand on top of hers. He was surprised and happy when she did not pull away, instead intertwining her fingers with his, laying their hands back down on the seat between them. They drove the whole way to the airport in silence, letting the music fill the air.
They drove towards the private airfield. When she saw the Buchanan jet in front of them she turned and looked at him, “We’re taking the jet?”
“Yes,” squeezing her hand, “and before you say anything every thing has been taken care. Matthew will be spending the weekend with Asa and Renee, while we get stranded.”
“Stranded?”
He brings their hands up and kisses the back of her hand, “Trust me?”
“Always,” she said with a smile.
The chauffeur stopped along side the jet. Bo opened his door and climbed out, making his way over to her door. The chauffeur reached for her door but pulled his hand back when Bo spoke, “I’ll get it. If you could take our bags onto the plane I’d appreciate it.”
“No problem, Mr. Buchanan.”
She waited for her door to be opened, knowing that was why Bo rushed out of the limo. He held his hand out to her; she slid forward and placed her hand in his allowing him to help her from the limo. He dropped their hands between them, not letting go of hers as he led her to the plane. Bo led her into the main cabin of the plane, his hand now on the small of her back as they entered the cabin.
She took her seat and fastened her seatbelt, glancing quickly out the window, watching the limo drive away. He took his seat beside her and fastened his seatbelt, pulling it tight around his waist. He looked over at her and smiled, taking her hand and lifting it to his lips once again, placing a soft kiss on her hand before settling them back down between them.
A moment later the pilot came over the intercom, “We’ve been cleared for takeoff, Mr. Buchanan. We should arrive at our destination right on schedule.”
Bo pushed the button on the overhead, acknowledging the pilot’s announcement. He turned his attention back to Nora, who was looking out the window, once again. He leans in close, “Penny for your thoughts.”
She turned her attention away from the window and looked at him. She smiled and shook her head, “Just thinking, that’s all.”
He laughed, “Well that much was obvious,” she smiled once again as he teased her, “Anything you’d like to share with the class?”
“I was just thinking about how far we’ve come this past year. So much has changed in our lives. We found out the truth about Matthew, I switched to the opposite side of the courtroom…”
“I lost someone only to end up finding out that what I was looking for was right where I had left it.” She looks down at their hands and smiles. He could tell that they had had enough true confessions for the moment. He leaned in and kissed her temple, “Why don’t you try and get some sleep. We have a while before we get were we’re going.”
“And where exactly are we going?”
“It’s a surprise, Red.” He winked at her and laid his head back against the seat, “Close your eyes and rest.”
She closed her eyes, not realizing until she did so how tired she really was. Soon she was fast asleep, her head falling until it rested on his shoulder. He turned his head as far as he could and looked at her and smiled, before closing his own eyes and giving into sleep.
Several hours later the pilot’s voice over the intercom woke them from their sleep. She lifted her head off his shoulder, giving him an awkward smile when he looked over at her. They fastened their seatbelts once again and prepared for landing. Forty five minutes later they came to a stop at yet another private airfield. Nora looked out the window and saw only another black limo waiting for them.
Bo stood up and reached into his pocket pulling a scarf out of his pocket. Nora looked at him skeptically, “What do you think you’re going to do with that?”
“This, my dear is for you.”
“You are not blindfolding me, Buchanan.”
“You promised to be a good sport, Red.”
She looked up at him, his blue eyes intense with desire, desire for her and only her. She stood up and walked over to where he stood, their eyes locked on each other as she stopped in front of him, “Fine, you win this one, Commish, but you SO owe me.”
“Oh, and I’ll be more than happy to show you how much I appreciate it,” he smiles mischievously, “later.” She blushed slightly at the hidden meaning behind his comment. He laughed at her obvious discomfort. He took her hand and led her towards the door, “Okay, Red, let’s go get stranded.”
Nora slid into the back of the limo. Bo slid in close beside her and took her hand once again. They settled into the plush leather seats as the limo pulled away from the airstrip and turned onto the main road. It was impossible to see through the windows of this limo, something that she was sure Bo had requested specifically to keep her in the dark about their destination.
After what seemed like a lifetime the limo finally came to a stop. Bo shifted in his seat, shifting her with him so that her back was to him. He pulled the scarf back out of his pocket, and placed it over her eyes. She smiled despite her earlier objections, finally letting go and telling herself to just enjoy the attention Bo was offering. She heard him open his door and felt him slide away from her, the door closing a moment later. Her door was opened a few seconds later. She felt him take her hand as he helped her out of the car. He took her arm and they began to walk forward.
She inhaled the sea air, the sound of the ocean in the background and the feel of the sand under her feet, bringing a smile to her face. Bo looked over at her and smiled, pleased that he was the one that put the smile back on her face. A few minutes later he stopped walking. He walked around behind her and removed the blindfold. She blinked a few times, her eyes adjusting to the bright sun. She brought her hands to her mouth as she took in her surroundings.
In front of them there was a make shift shelter, a torn and tattered sheet draped across two large pieces of driftwood, stuck into the sand. A blanket lay across the sand under the shelter, the exact novel she had been reading lying on the blanket. She smiled and turned around and looked at him “How, when…why?”
He walked up to her and took her hand, “Just made a few phone calls…very early this morning,” pausing for a moment before answering her last question, “because I love you.”
She stared at him for a moment, trying to find her voice. It cracked when she finally tried to speak, “Wha…what did you just say?”
He reached up and wiped away the tear that had fallen on her cheek when she heard him say the words she had wanted to hear, her heart too afraid to believe it, “I said that I love you.”
She started to cry, her shoulders shaking as the tears fell. He tilted her chin up and cupped her face, “What’s with the tears, Red?”
“I’m just…I’m happy.” He looked at her trying not to laugh. She smiled through her tears, knowing what he was thinking, “Yes, this is happy. For the first time in five years I can say I’m truly happy.” She reaches out and runs her finger down the side of his face, “I love you too, Bo. I love you so much.”
He leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss; a kiss that held five years of longing and unforgotten love. After a few minutes they broke their kiss. He took her hand and led her over to the shelter. She sat down on the blanket as he walked over to the small table and poured each of them a glass of champagne. He joined her under the shelter, handing her a glass. He leaned in and kissed her before taking her hand in his. He raised his glass, she did the same, “To us”, he said, “to getting stranded, and to finally realizing what was right in front of our eyes.” They tap their glasses together and seal the toast with a kiss. Their kiss continues, growing more and more passionate, as the love they’ve secretly hidden in the deepest part of their hearts rushes to the surface, consuming them.
He stands up and reaches his hand out to her. She places her hand in it and stands up. He leads her out from under the shelter and pulls her to him. He begins dancing with her; the only music that can be heard is the surf pounding against the shore.
He held her so close, so close that she could feel his heart beating, knowing he could feel hers beating just as fast. With each passing moment the things that had kept them from giving into their feelings drifted away.
They continued to dance, as he captures her lips in his. Their passion continued to grow with each kiss; with each touch. They needed to feel each other’s love just as much as they needed to show the other their love. That had always been the way they communicated best, through touch. He brought his lips onto her neck, caressing that spot that always made her breath catch in her throat, her knees go weak, and her heart race.
He brought his lips back onto hers; their tongues continuing their dance, as their hands begin to explore, to rediscover one another. He broke the kiss, their lips a mere fraction of an inch apart. Nora’s hands slid up to the back of his neck, pulling him back down to her. The kiss was full of need, want, desire and passion, but above all love, a love they could no longer deny, a love that neither time nor distance, nor betrayal and despair could tear apart. Theirs was a love that could and would survive anything, they were sure of that now. There was nothing that their love couldn’t survive.
Bo broke the kiss breathlessly. They stared into each other's eyes as they tried to control their breathing. He took Nora’s hand in his. "I want to make love to you, Nora," he whispered softly as he moved her hand to his lips. Nora nodded, wanting nothing more than to be in his arms again. She took a breath, trying to calm her racing heart.
He led her over to the blanket kneeling down in front of each other, never breaking their kiss. She reaches between them, running her hands across his chest, as their kiss deepens. He reaches behind her, slowly lowering the zipper of her sundress. He runs his hands back up her back, his touch setting her skin on fire, igniting their growing passion. She reaches down and pulls his shirt from his shorts, running her hands over his chest, before lifting it over his head.
He brings his lips down onto her neck, her head arching back as he kissed across her collarbone finding that spot on her neck once again. She runs her hands over his chest, as he continues to caress her neck. He lowers the straps of her dress down her arms, his lips leaving her neck; following the trail of newly exposed skin.
He lowered her onto the blanket, taking her in his arms, pulling her body against his. He took her mouth once again in a passionate kiss, their tongues seeking out the others. His fingers trailed down her arm, reaching between them, taking her in his hand, slowly caressing her as they continued their kiss.
She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him on top of her, their lips never breaking contact. Feeling the weight of his body on hers once again, caused her heart to race in anticipation of what was to come. He pulled himself up onto his hands, looking deep in her eyes before bringing his mouth down onto her.
She wrapped her arms him, her fingers gripping his back as he continued to caress her with his tongue. His hand ran up and down her hips and legs, reaching between them, running over her stomach. He broke contact with her, sitting up to look at her lying in front of him, her body flushed with desire, the subtle changes to her body, that carrying their son left behind, were evident only to him, and only made him want her more. He reached out and laid his hand on her cheek, wiping a stray tear off her cheek, “You’re so beautiful,” he whispered breathlessly, “So very beautiful.”
He brought his lips down onto her skin, setting it on fire as his tongue caressed her, traveling across her chest, down her stomach. A deep moan escaped as she felt his warm breath against her center. He brought his mouth back up the same way it had just traveled, once again taking her mouth in a passionate kiss, as his fingers began to pleasure her.
She reached between them, taking him in her hand, causing him to moan against her mouth, as their kiss deepened. They were bringing each other closer and closer to the edge, closer and closer to Heaven, with each touch, with each caress. She pulled out of their kiss, her breaths coming quickly as she whispered her request, “Now, Bo…please…”
He took her lips in another passionate kiss as he entered her. She moaned against him, at the feel of him inside her once again. His movements started out slow, their bodies moving in perfect rhythm. He knew what each moan meant, he knew when to slow down; they knew each other so well; the way old lovers do.
Their dance continued, their bodies covered in a sheen of sweat, the sea breezes kissing their skin. Their pace quicken, matching the fury of the sea as the waves crashed against the shore. They were each bringing the other closer to the edge, closer to their climax. She reached out, wrapping her legs around him, pulling him deeper within her. Moments later he felt her tighten around him, her climax bringing him right along with her.
He pulled her on top of him. She laid her head on his chest, their hearts still beating rapidly as they came down from their lovemaking. They laid there in silence for a while, their legs intertwined, their bodies still connected in the most intimate way possible. They were one once again, one heart, one soul, and one love.
She lifted her head off his chest, looking deep into his eyes. She couldn’t believe this was real, that they had found their way back to each other. He pulled himself up, pulling her up with him, situating her on his lap. He laid his hand on her cheek, leaning in for a quick kiss before speaking, “I love you so much, Nora. You’ve brought life back into my life. You’ve given me a reason to want to greet each morning, to live my life to the fullest. I can’t thank you enough for all that you’ve done for me, for giving me our son, for being my best friend, my lover and my heart.”
She reached out; running her finger along his face, across his lips, looking deep into his blue eyes, eyes that she so easily loses herself in every time she looks into them, “I can’t believe we’re back here, in each other’s arms after all the time that has passed, after all the hurt and the pain, we’ve finally found our way through it all. I never thought I would get to feel your arms around me again, to feel your heart beating against mine, to feel your touch. I thought that our only connection would be our son, and I was happy to have that. I knew through loving our son I would love you. He is the best of both of us, created out of a love so true and so pure that thinking about it takes my breath away,” she pauses for a moment, her voice filling with emotion. He reaches out and wipes the tears from her face, “I…I love you so much, Bo. Thank you for giving me the chance to love you again. Thank you for trusting me with your heart.”
“You’re the only one who has ever owned my heart. You’re the only one I have given my heart to so freely.” He leans in and captures her lips once again, laying her back onto the blanket, losing themselves once again in each other’s touch, once again renewing their love on their very own island paradise.
