Chapter Twenty Nine:
They stood there across the room from each other. The silence between them was filled with so many painful memories fighting against the love they had for each other. Outside the skies were threatening rain; inside the past was threatening their future.
He walked towards her; she walked towards him the distance between them was just too much. They needed to make “contact”; they needed to find their way out of the past and back to the here and now, back to the place where their love existed.
As they continued to close the distance between them her tears continued to fall down her face; matching tear for tear those that were falling down his. They stopped just a few feet from each other. She looked into his eyes as he held out his hand. She placed her hand in his and he pulled her towards him. She threw her arms around him and cried into his chest….
“I’m sorry Bo…I--I should’ve never brought up the past. I know why you walked out on me, on our marriage. I hurt you, and if I would’ve had more faith in us then I would’ve been patient, I would’ve told you that there was no baby. As it turns out we would’ve found out within a few weeks that I was pregnant anyway. If only I had known…”
Steps out of their embrace and takes her face in his hands, brushing a tear away with his thumb, “We both made mistakes and we’ve paid the consequences, Nora, and our son has paid the consequences. We both failed him and we both destroyed what we had, but I’ve forgiven you. Have you forgiven me, I mean completely forgiven me?”
“There really wasn’t anything to forgive. I was the one who slept with another man….”
“To give me what you thought I needed to come back to you. If I hadn’t pushed you away when Drew died then you wouldn’t have been in the position to try and find something; anything to bring me back.”
Looks at the ground, “But I slept with Sam…”
Tilts her chin forcing her to look at him, “Yes you did and it ripped my heart out, and in a way it still does, but I know it wasn’t because you loved him or that you wanted to be with him. I know when you slept with Sam you loved me, that it wasn’t about him, it was about us.”
“But I lost you just the same. We lost us.”
“Yeah, but look at us now. We’re in our house, Matthew is with us and he’s ours. (places his hand on her stomach) And we’re having a baby. My God Nora, think about it, another baby, a perfect symbol of what the future holds for us. So let’s not go back to the past ever again. Let’s stay in the present and focus on the future. So once again I’m going to ask you this question and once again your answer is going to determine where we go from here. In your heart are you with me?”
“And once again I’ll tell you that you are my heart, and this time I know for a fact that it’s enough.”
“Are you sure? No doubts?”
“I never once doubted marrying you again or making a family with you. I panicked and I’m sorry.”
“Apology accepted, now will you do something for me?”
“Anything.”
“Dance with me.”
She looked up at him and kissed him tenderly on the lips. He pulled her close and together they danced over to the jukebox sitting in the corner. He pressed the button and soon music filled the room…
Dance with me, I want
to be your partner.
Can't you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am falling.
Dance with me.
They swayed to the
music, their bodies pressed so tightly that no one could tell where he ended and
she began. They were one heart and one soul.
Fantasy could never be so giving.
I feel free; I hope that you are willing.
Pick your feet up, and kick your feet up.
Dance with me.
Let it lift you off
the ground.
Starry eyes and love is all around us.
I can take you where you want to go.
Dance with me, I want
to be your partner.
Can't you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am falling.
Dance with me.
They were safe in each other’s arms. This is where they had longed to be for so many years. As the music played their need and desire for each other grew.
Let it lift you off
the ground.
Starry eyes and love is all around us.
I can take you where you want to go.
Dance with me, I want
to be your partner.
Can't you see the music is just starting?
Night is falling, and I am falling.
Dance with me.
The music ended; the song was done, but their dance wasn’t over. He picked her up and carried her upstairs.
“I love you, Bo Buchanan.”
“I love you too, and nothings going to stand in our way ever again.”
The door slowly opens to room 205 where a young man is sitting up in bed reading a magazine. His left arm is handcuffed to the bed. He looks up at the person walking through the door.
“You failed.”
“Dr. McGiver.”
~*~*~
It ticks just like a
Timex
It never lets up on you
Who said life was easy
The job is never through
It'll run us 'til we're ragged
It'll harden our hearts
And love could use a day of rest
Before we both start falling apart
A bolt of lighting streaks across
the sky, a clap of thunder rattles the windows as the skies open up and the rain
begins to fall.
He put her down just inside the doorway of their bedroom; she wrapped her arms around him and crashed her mouth down onto his. He took her face in his hands and as they continued to kiss, as their tongues continued their seductive dance, all the reasons why they were meant for each other was evident. His hands began to explore her body as the rain continued to fall. She pulled him closer until in the darkness, the lightening the only thing lighting the sky, you could barely tell where one started and the other began. Bo reached around and opened the door, not once breaking their kiss. He backed her through the opened door shutting it with his foot.
He looked at her as he broke the kiss. He loved this woman with all his heart and he saw that love reflected back in her eyes. A single tear fell down her face, a tear not of sadness, but of happiness, of knowing you’ve found home.
Pray that it's
raining on Sunday
Stormin' like crazy
We'll hide under the covers all afternoon
Baby whatever comes Monday
Can take care of itself
'Cause we got better things that we could do
When it's raining on Sunday
He turned her around and backed her against the door. His hands once again exploring her body as he broke contact with her lips and moved his attention down her cheek and onto her neck. She could feel her legs grow weak as Bo’s kisses burned her skin, causing the desire she had down deep inside of her to rise up. She moved her hands from his neck to his back slipping them under his shirt. She ran her hands along his back feeling her skin against his once again. He slowly began to unbutton her shirt leaving a kiss on each piece of exposed skin. He quickly disposed of the shirt as he brought his mouth down to her breast. He caressed her breast through the thin material of her silk bra, teasing her nipple until it rose to a hardened peak. He brought his hands up to the front of her bra as he continued to tease her nipple with his tongue. He undid the front clasp allowing her breasts to be fully revealed to him. He slowly brought the straps down her arms and soon it laid along side her shirt. He could already see the subtle changes that motherhood was causing. He broke contact with her breast as she lifted his shirt over his head. She ran her hands down his chest; stopping at the waistband of his jeans. She slowly unbuttoned his jeans as his mouth continued to pleasure her. A moan escaped from deep in the back of his throat as he felt her slowly unzip his jeans. She ran her fingers along the inside of the waistband of his silk boxers before she slipped inside, taking his hardened desire in her hand. She lowered his pants and boxers which soon lay in a pile in front of the fireplace. She took him in her hands once again as she brought him closer and closer to the edge.
Your love is like
religion
A cross in Mexico
And your kiss is like the innocence
Of a prayer nailed to a door
Oh surrender in much sweeter
When we both let it go
Let the water wash our bodies clean
And love wash our souls
The thunder continued to clap and the lightening continued to streak across the sky as the intensity of the storm matched the intensity of their passion, the passion for each other that never died.
Pray that it's
raining on Sunday
Stormin' like crazy
We'll hide under the covers all afternoon
Baby whatever comes Monday
Can take care of itself

When it's raining on Sunday
Bo slowly lowered her onto the bed, never breaking contact with her breasts, as she continued to run her hand down his desire. They kneeled in front of each other. He broke contact with her breasts and took her face in his hands. They looked at each other for a moment. She ran her hands up his chest and rested them against his cheeks. She pulled his face down to her as she crashed her lips down onto his, taking him in a soul searing kiss, their tongues dancing once again. He ran his hands down her chest and along the plane of her still flat stomach stopping at the top of her jeans. She arched her back as she felt him unbutton the button and slowly undo the zipper. He quickly lowered them down over her hips, disposing of everything that was shielding her body from him. With the glow of the fireplace and the lightening the only sources of light they took in the sight of each other, their desire for each other evident in the flush of their cheeks and their racing hearts. He ran his fingers along the inside of her thigh as she continued to stroke his desire. He reached the top of her thigh and slowly ran his fingers along the outside of her center causing a moan to escape as she arched her back and opened her legs to him. He brought his mouth down onto her breast once again as he slowly slipped his finger inside, running it in circles over her most sensitive spot. He felt her begin to tighten around him, and as he positioned himself over her he slipped his finger out of her and slowly entered her. Her body shuddered at the familiar feel of him being inside her. Their dance began slowly but as the storm outside raged so did their lovemaking until it finally became feverish. She opened herself up more and drew him deeper with in her with every thrust. She pushed against his chest forcing him onto his back, their bodies never breaking contact. She took his mouth in another passionate kiss as their fevered thrusts brought them both to an earth shattering climax.

She lay against his chest, as he remained inside her. Their hearts racing their breathing still quickened.
She sat up, their bodies never disconnecting. She ran her hand down his chest and over the bandage covering his wound. She leaned down and kissed his chest, her tears wetting his skin as she gave in to every emotion that had invaded her soul since she received the phone call on Valentine’s Day. She looked up at him and he held her face in his hands.
“Its okay baby, I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere for a long, long time.”
She kissed him passionately and just as quickly as it had ended their dance began again…..
