Chapter Fifteen:

“Nora, just hear me out.”

“Rachel can you get Matt and take him to Bo. I don’t want him in here when I give the good doctor a piece of my mind.”

Rachel picked up Matthew and walked towards the door. She looked at her mom and then looked at Larry.

“Listen to what he has to say, mom.”

“Good night, Rachel.”

“Good luck, Dr. Woleck, I think you’re going to need it.”

Rachel looked back at her mother as the door closed behind her. She sighed and walked towards the sunroom where she knew Bo always waited.

Back in Nora’s room:

“How many times and in how many different ways do I have to tell you that I do not want Bo involved in this?”

“Nora, bottom line is this. If you want to leave this hospital you’ll move in with Bo until you’re able to get around on your own.”

“Why? Why Bo’s.”

“Because you need someone who’s going to be there and can help you get around. You can’t navigate the stairs in your house; Bo’s house has no stairs. It’s a perfect fit.”

“I’ll sleep on my couch.”

“No deal.”

“Why?”

“Because you need proper rest and you will not get that sleeping on a couch. I’m serious about this, Nora. It’s Bo’s house or it’s this hospital room. You make the choice.”

“This is blackmail. You’re blackmailing me.”

“Why yes, yes I am.”

“Fine.”

“Fine, what?”

“Fine, I’ll move in with Bo.”

“Ahhh…I knew you’d see it my way.”

“You mean more like seeing it Bo’s way.”

“Minor technicality.”

“Can you please go find that ex-husband of mine and tell him I want a word with him?”

“Sure, and I’ll go work on your discharge papers.”

Larry left to find Bo. By the time Bo got to her room Nora was fuming. Bo knocked on the door and waited for her to give him permission to enter.

“Get in here Buchanan!”

“You summoned me?”

“You have a lot of nerve mister.”

“Ahhh…so I see you’ve spoken with Larry.”

“I don’t like being blackmailed, Buchanan.”

“Who’s blackmailin’ ya, Red” he asked with a twinkle in his eye.

“Don’t try and sweet talk me, Commish. I’m on to you and you’re little conspiracy with the good Doctor Larry.”

“We only want what’s best for you, Red.”

“Well I hope you’re proud of yourself, mister.”

Bo smiled that weak-in-the-knees, take your breath away smile. Yeah he was quite proud of himself actually. He knew she was going to make him pay, but no matter what, knowing he was going to be able to do everything in his power to put the light back in her eyes was going to be worth everything he knew she was going to dish out.
